Advanced Spinal Technologies, Inc. To Present at the American Academy Of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists Annual Scientific Session In October

August 9, 2006 - Advanced Spinal Technologies, Inc ("AST") is pleased to announce that it has been invited to present results at the 12th annual Scientific Session of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists on October 22, 2006, at The Westin Charlotte in Charlotte, NC. The presentation will detail successful patient treatments that were the basis of a recently submitted report to the Academy by Dr. Jeffery R. Perelman, President of Advanced Spinal Technologies.

The report is titled:

"The Efficacy and Safety of a Powered, Handheld Spinal Mobilization Instrument in the Treatment of Patients with Chronic Back Pain."

The report details the treatment of patients with AST's patented Advanced Spinal Mobilization Instrument (ASMI). The study reports improvements in patient condition on a number of validated criteria to assess patients with Back Pain including pain scales and levels of disability and activity. The research, treatments of patients with AST's patented Advanced Spinal Mobilization Instrument (ASMI), was conducted in and is the first such study in the United States.

The Advanced Spinal Mobilization Instrument has been in use in the United States, England and other countries for over five years, and many patients have been successfully treated. Outside the US, the device is marketed as the Technology-Assisted Micro-Mobilization and Reflex Stimulator ("TAMARS"). TAMARS has become the basis of a carefully designed and novel therapeutic procedure that is designed to result in the restoration of spinal mobility, flexibility and function.

Advanced Spinal Technologies holds the exclusive license to the intellectual property and commercial rights relating to TAMARS in the United States, Europe, Australia, Japan, and all other countries of the World other than the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.

Jeffrey R. Perelman, M.D., President of Advanced Spinal Technologies commented, "I am looking forward to presenting our extremely positive clinical experience with the Advanced Spinal Mobilization Instrument to the Physical Therapy specialists attending the AAOMPT meeting this fall. We continue to see successful and positive treatments in our clinics and look forward to building a body of research supporting the efficacy and success of our treatment."
